Ever Wondered About the Chakras?

If you don’t know what chakras are, they are the centers of spiritual power in the human body. These seven centers are spinning wheels of energy inside our bodies. Each of these seven centers has its own name and has control over certain areas of your body. They are located at different points along the spine. These points are thought to flow in a spiral fashion. Opening the chakras will help you to reach your highest potential. The chakras were first referenced in ancient Hindu texts around 2000 years ago. In this article I will briefly describe each of the seven starting from the bottom, which is the root chakra.

Root Chakra-This chakra is located at the base of the spine. This chakra provides the foundation on which we build our life. This is where we ground ourselves and anchor our energy to the earth. It is related to our feeling of security. To empower this chakra, you can wear red or keep red stones with you. Some stones associated with the root chakra include: Bloodstone, Red Jasper, and Red Carnelian. The symbol associated with the root chakra is a lotus flower with four petals.

Sacral-This chakra is located about three inches above the navel at the center of your belly. This chakra is the center of our feelings and sensations. It’s particularly active in our sexuality and the expression of our sensual and sexual desires. The sacral chakra allows us to feel the world around and in us. To empower this chakra, you can wear orange or keep orange stones with you. Some stones associated with the sacral chakra are: Citrine, Orange Aventurine, and Orange Carnelian. The symbol associated with the sacral chakra is a lotus flower with six petals.

Solar Plexus-The solar plexus is located in the upper part of the belly, where your diaphragm rests. It is associated with will power and taking responsibility and control for one’s own life. To empower this chakra wear yellow or keep yellow stones with you. Some stones associated with the solar plexus are: Tigers Eye, Yellow Jasper and Pyrite. The symbol for the solar plexus is the lotus flower with ten petals.

Heart-The heart chakra is the center of all the chakras. It is located in the center of the chest. It is not directly on the heart organ, rather directly in the center of the chest. The heart chakra is associated with love and compassion for oneself and for others. To empower this chakra you can wear green. Keeping the following stones on you will help as well: Jade, Emerald, and Malachite. The symbol for the heart chakra is the lotus flower with twelve petals.

Throat-The throat chakra located at the center of the neck at the level of the throat. It is associated with communication, expression, and the ability to speak your own truth. You can empower this chakra by wearing the color blue or keeping blue stones with you. Those stones could include: Lapis Lazuli, Aquamarine, and Turquoise. The symbol for the throat chakra is a lotus flower with sixteen petals.

Third Eye-This chakra is located on the forehead, between your eyebrows. It is the center of intuition and insight. It motivates inspiration and creativity. This chakra can be empowered by wearing indigo or by keeping the following stones with you: Purple Fluorite, Amethyst or  Actinolite. The third eye chakra symbol is a lotus flower with two petals.

Crown-This chakra is located at the top of the head. It gives us access to higher states of our consciousness. It helps us to open to what is beyond our personal visions. The crown chakra helps us to get in touch with the universe or God. To empower this chakra, wear violet or keep the following stones with you: Clear Quartz, Amethyst, or Selenite. The symbol of the crown chakra is a lotus flower with a thousand petals.

This is just a brief overview of the Chakras. There is a lot of information on the chakras out there. I plan on making an educational video teaching about the chakras in the very near future.
